Welcome to Basshogg’s flagship, Blowin’ Cheeks! This series will pit our crew against each other in various Bass Fishing challenges where the loser faces ridiculous punishments. Over the season the crew will fish various lakes. They’ll have to use as many techniques as possible to land as many bass as it takes to avoid defeat. Join us on our adventures and cheer for (or against) your favourite Basshogg!
Blowin' Cheeks! Episode #4 "The Salon"
Blowin’ Cheeks Episode 4 (“The Salon”) was release on 22 June 2024. The show features Donnie, Shane and Bellz going to head to head. All are trying for their first win of the season. The punishments for losing this challenge is a black hair dye delivered by the winner. The bass were biting, but the little ones were hitting our lines more than the big guys we were hoping for. Donnie mixes it up between crank baits and Wacky. Bellz goes all in with his crank baits and Shane sticks to the old faithful Wacky Rig.
Blowin' Cheeks! Episode #3 "The Shazilian"
Blowin’ Cheeks Episode 3 (“The Shazilian”) was release on 21 August 2023. The show features Donnie and Bellz going to head to head. Both are trying for their first win of the season. The punishments for losing this challenge is a hot wax leg waxing delivered by the winner. The bass were a little bit elusive with the summer heat, so the boys decided to up the ante and add a skunk clause that would see anyone that goes with zero weight have their nose hair waxed as an added bonus. Donnie mixes it up between jigs, Wacky and Texas rigs. Bellz goes with his new favourite Whopper Popper as well as the Wacky rig.
Blowin' Cheeks! Episode #2 "Aqua Velva"
Blowin’ Cheeks Episode 2 (“Aqua Velva”) was release on 24 July 2023. The show features Donnie and Shane going to head to head. Shane is trying to establish a winning streak while Donnie is making his season debut. The punishments for losing this challenge would either see silver haired Shane undergo an intensive black dye job. A loss by Donnie would see him lose his long established beard. The bass were definitely on the bite this day. Donnie mixes it up between jigs, wacky and ned rigs. Shane goes with his faithful Texas and Wacky rigs.
Blowin' Cheeks! Episode #1 "The Haircut"
Blowin’ Cheeks Episode 1 (“The Haircut”) was released on 13 July 2023. The show features Shane and Chris (Bellz) going head to head trying to catch the most smallmouth or largemouth bass possible in a one hour timeframe. Both fisherman use a variety of methods on their quest. Bellz switches between weighted Texas rigs and topwater frogs. Shane sticks with 5″ senkos rigged Texas and Wacky. The punishment for losing this competition is a ridiculous haircut that the loser must sport for 1 month.
