Lac-Simon is located in Quebec, Canada Northeast of Ottawa ON and Northwest of Montreal QC. While it does have populations of trout and largemouth bass, the lake is more well-known for its recreational opportunities, including boating, swimming, and other water activities.
The lake is a popular destination for tourists and locals alike, and features several beaches and parks that offer amenities such as picnic areas, playgrounds, and camping facilities. Boating is also a popular activity on the lake, with several marinas and boat ramps available for visitors.
Overall, while fishing is certainly a popular activity on Lac-Simon, the lake’s primary appeal lies in its abundance of recreational opportunities for visitors of all ages and interests.
There is a boat launch highlighted on the map at the Marina. Centre Nautique Lac Simon is the name of the Marina.
The lake is a busy vacation destination during the summer with many camp sites and cottagers in the area. To get any serious fishing in, Anglers will have to get up early or push through rain. Sunny days will see the lake busy with recreational boaters of all kind.
Being such a big lake, Lac-Simon offers plenty of opportunities for bass fisherman to test their skills. With almost endless shoreline there are countless docks and other natural structure abound. Islands, Bays, Rock faces, grassy areas, steep shelves, you name it you’ll find it.
While we wouldn’t recommend Lac-Simon as strictly a fishing destination, if you’re in the area bring your gear. With a lake this size there has to be a monster in there!
Lac Barriere is connected to the South and offers fresh scenery to explore, but nothing more. The good news is that there are many other smaller lakes in the area that provide better opportunities to fish in peace.
